How to Open and Close the Hood of the BMW X3

This guide shows the procedure to open and close the hood of all BMW vehicles; in fact, the procedure is standard for the manufacturer. The first step is to secure the vehicle. At this point, pull the lever located under the dashboard on the driver's side to release the first stage of the latch and lift the hood from its fully closed position. Since the latch is still engaged, pull the release lever a second time. This fully disengages the hood from the latch, allowing you to open it. To close the hood, simply lower it and apply a light pressure to ensure it latches completely.
