Rear Headlight Bulb Replacement

Model: BMW Serie 5 E39 - Years 1995-2003
Part: Tail light bulb

Replacing the rear headlight bulb is very simple as you can access the bulb holder directly from the trunk without removing the headlight itself. First, open the rear hood, remove the side carpet covering by opening the corresponding handle to reach the back of the headlight, and disconnect the bulb holder by unscrewing the central plastic screw. Then proceed with replacing the bulbs and inspect all the others: if they appear blackened, replace them even if they are still working (bayonet mount). Then reverse the steps for reassembly.
