To replace the door lock on the BMW X3, open the door to access the screw that secures the mechanism on the side. By loosening this screw, you can completely remove the door handle from its housing.

This will allow you to push the lock cylinder inward for removal after detaching the door panel. Once the old lock cylinder is removed, insert the new one, securing it and reinstalling all previously removed parts.
