Disassembly of Center Tunnel and Related Buttons for Repair

Model: BMW Serie 3 E46 - Years 1998-2006
Part: Center console tunnel

To start disassembly, remove the shift knob. Using a plastic tool to avoid damaging the body, gently remove the plastic trim around the shift lever. Remove the retaining screws of the console with the buttons. Remove the ashtray at the end of the tunnel and disconnect the connector attached to it. Remove the screws located at the bottom of the ashtray compartment and take out all components under the armrest. Disconnect all electrical wires and remove the faulty buttons by pushing them upwards. Insulate the bottom of the switches with tape and reassemble them in their holder. Reconnect the wires and reassemble the tunnel.
