Disassembling the Glove Box Lock

If the lock of the glove box door tends to jam, it is essential to disassemble it before it gets stuck, making it impossible to open (unless you break the lock itself), especially when you need to retrieve important documents like the registration or insurance contract from the glove compartment. This is a common issue caused by the fact that the internal mechanism of the lock is entirely plastic and tends to wear out and deform easily. Once you open the door, simply remove the two internal screws and take out the components that make up the lock.
