Instructions for Removing Shift Knob

Model: BMW Serie 3 E46 - Years 1998-2006
Part: Shift knob

Removing the shift knob is very simple since the knob (complete with the shift rod) is pressed into its seat without any locking mechanism. Move the lever to the center position, grasp the knob, and pull upward to extract it along with the shift rod, avoiding jerking and maintaining a steady pulling force. To reinstall, proceed in reverse, pressing the knob down with constant pressure until it clicks into place, avoiding hitting it.
