Before you can start, sit in the driver's seat of your BMW 3 Series. Begin by grasping the shift knob with both hands. At this point, pull firmly towards you to dislodge and remove the shift knob, completing the disassembly. To install the new shift knob, simply push it firmly onto the shift lever until it clicks into place. Once you complete this step, you will have successfully replaced the shift knob on a BMW 3 Series.
