How to Open the BMW X5 Key Fob

Model: BMW X5 E53 - Years 1999-2006

The remote key for this car model, like other models from the same manufacturer, is not designed to be opened. The two halves of the fob are thermally welded together and not snap-fitted, and the battery is soldered to the circuit board. However, there is a way to separate the halves without damaging them: secure the key in a vise by the metal blade and use a small saw to cut along the seam of the two halves to separate them. You can then proceed to replace the battery, and to close the halves, it is recommended to use a few drops of glue.
