In order to replace the battery of the BMW X5, you need to open the rear hatch to locate the panel lining at the bottom of the vehicle. Once this panel is completely removed, you can locate the underlying battery.

The battery can be removed from its housing by unscrewing the screws that hold it in place and disconnecting the power cables; this way you can insert the new one into its housing, reconnect the power cables and secure it, then verify that everything is functioning properly.
