How to Unfreeze a Stuck Lock

Model: BMW Serie 5 E39 - Years 1995-2003
Part: Handle

Freezing is not a common issue in our area, but on particularly cold days, especially after heavy rain followed by a sudden drop in temperature, a lock can become stuck due to the freezing of the internal mechanism. In such cases, it may not open with the remote or by inserting the key. To resolve this, try to thaw it using a heat source like a hairdryer, keeping it at a safe distance from the body to avoid damaging the paint. Once the lock area is warmed up, it can also be helpful to spray some penetrating oil.
