How to program a BMW key without tools

Model: BMW Serie 5 E39 - Years 1995-2003

The procedure described in the video is correct for some older models up to 2002/2003 (E39/E46/E38/E53), with a fixed blade remote. This procedure only synchronizes the radio part of the remote, to open and close the doors, and does not program the immobilizer chip inside the key. Therefore, if it is a new key that has not been programmed for the car, the vehicle will not start. However, it works to resynchronize an existing key that has lost synchronization. We insert the working key into the ignition switch, turn on the ignition without starting the engine. We turn it off and remove the key. We press and hold the unlock button on the remote and simultaneously press the lock button three times, or until we see the car lights flash. Now we release the unlock button. We test the remote buttons.
