How to Unlock the Automatic Transmission of the BMW 5 Series?

To unlock the automatic transmission of the BMW 5 Series, remove the screws that secure the glove compartment located directly in front of the gear selector. Once these screws are loosened, you can detach the plastic container to access the components underneath. Here, you will find a lock where you need to insert a special "key" and turn it completely clockwise. This will allow the gear selector to shift into neutral, effectively unlocking the transmission.
