How to Unlock the Automatic Transmission of the BMW 5 Series F11

This guide shows how to unlock the automatic transmission of the BMW 5 Series F11 for towing. For this operation, safely lift the front of the vehicle. From underneath the vehicle, remove the screws securing the protective panel of the engine and transmission. On the left side of the transmission case, there is a lever with a control screw. Tighten the screw fully to actuate the lever and unlock the transmission in neutral mode. From the cabin, check the correct execution of the operation by monitoring the transmission position indicators.
