To replace the key fob battery on a BMW 6 Series, remove the key from the top of the device by pressing the button located on the back. Once removed, pry open the fob to access the battery inside.

The old battery can now be taken out and replaced with a new one. After inserting the new battery, close the fob by reattaching the back panel and repositioning the key.
