How to Remove the Window Regulator Motor on BMW 3 Series

Want to remove the mirror from your BMW and don’t know how? Follow these steps in this video. Before starting the disassembly, disconnect the battery terminals. If you can't find it, don't worry; in your BMW, it is located in the rear hood, not the front like most cars. Using a Torx T20 screwdriver, unscrew the inner door handle, being careful not to scratch it. Remove the large clip with a plastic spatula, unscrew the screw in the slot, and once removed, unscrew the one for the inner door opening lever. Detach the door panel, disconnect the window regulator and speaker connectors. Don’t lose the snap clips located behind the plastic panel you removed earlier. Disconnect the mirror power connectors, remove the plastic cover, and unscrew the pins with the screwdriver. Pull the mirror out from the outside, sliding the power wire through. Use a socket wrench and the appropriate bit to unscrew the glass track pins. Remove the glass seals both inside and outside. Take out the glass by sliding it upward, being careful not to break it. Remove the window regulator motor using the socket wrench, disconnect the power connectors, and pull it out of its housing. Slide the track and window regulator out of the door panel. Start reassembling everything, beginning with the track and window regulator. Get someone to help hold the glass.
