Today, you will learn how to perform the routine maintenance oil change for the Buick Encore GX by replacing the engine oil and oil filter. First, open the hood and unscrew the oil filler cap; lift the vehicle and remove the oil drain bolt, allowing it to drain into a container for about ten minutes.

Next, unscrew the oil filter cartridge and replace it with a new one; hand-tighten it and then tighten it with a wrench. Finally, pour in the new engine oil (in this case, 0W20), checking the level with the dipstick.
