How to Replace the Oil and Oil Filter of the Cadillac Elr

To replace the oil and oil filter of the Cadillac Elr, start by going under the vehicle. Using a suitable wrench, unscrew the oil filter and let it drain into a container. Once the oil has drained from the filter, remove it and clean its mounting area. Now take the new oil filter and screw it in using the appropriate wrench. After securing the filter, unscrew the oil drain plug with a 14 mm socket and let the oil drain into a container. Once the oil has drained, clean the drain plug area and reinstall it with the 14 mm socket. Now go to the engine, unscrew the oil fill cap, and pour in the specified quarts of oil. When you are close to the indicated amount, check the level with the dipstick (the level should be checked a second time after pulling out the dipstick). If the level is at the "max" mark, it is fine; otherwise, top off as needed.
