How to repair the heating hose on a Chevrolet Trax.

The loss of coolant from the flexible hose is unfortunately a common issue with Chevrolet Trax: what we see in the video is a plastic component with an O-ring, which cracks or deteriorates, causing coolant to leak from the expansion tank. Let's allow the engine to cool down, position a container under the work area to collect any leaks, and slightly unscrew the cap of the expansion tank while the engine is cold to relieve pressure in the system. We will remove the metal clamp from the hose, and with a flat screwdriver, remove the clip of the plastic fastener on the hose. Now let's check the condition of the base housing (the part that remains). If it is cracked, it needs to be replaced (the procedure is similar). Remove the O-ring from the housing and clean the seat with a clean cloth. Lubricate the new O-ring with dielectric grease and insert it into its seat, place the new connector in its position, and secure it with the plastic safety clip. Reconnect the heating hose to the new connector, tighten the new metal clamp, and refill the expansion tank with the correct coolant. Start the engine and let it warm up to circulate the fluid in the heating circuit, then allow it to cool completely and check for any leaks.
