If the handbrake travel has significantly increased, meaning you can count 7 to 10 clicks, then it needs adjusting; the cause can be attributed to cable stretching or gradual wear of the shoes; the adjustment is done manually from inside the cabin; the adjuster is located at the rear of the centre tunnel, and to access it, you must remove the armrest; once you reach the adjuster nut, release the handbrake and adjust the nut until the total handbrake travel is 4 to 5 clicks.
