How to Remove the Spare Tire on Chevrolet Equinox

To remove the spare tire, open the trunk, lift the tab, and flip up the first cargo floor. Pull the shelf towards you to detach it and remove it completely. To take out the second cargo floor, reach into the area under the trunk latch, pull the shelf upward, and remove it from the cargo area. This will give you access to the compartment containing the spare tire. Unscrew the central lug nut securing the tire and lift the tire itself. Underneath, you will find the jack and the corresponding wrench to lift it.
