In this video we see how to change the steering wheel on a 1980 Corvette C3: we can easily find the replacement online. For example, we suggest the code 275283182797 on eBay for $180.55 + $45.35 for shipping. To remove the old steering wheel, we will need a star screwdriver, but first we recommend disconnecting the battery to prevent the horn from sounding. Inside there are brackets and spacers that need to be removed (take a photo to make sure to put everything back in the same order), then remove the three support screws, then the screws that actually hold the steering wheel to the column, remove the horn button and put the new steering wheel back in place, putting all the brackets and spacers back in place, referring to our photo. Put the horn button back in place, reconnect the battery and test its operation. The job is done.
