To carry out this simple task, only a few steps are needed. The first operation is to pull the gaiter of the gear knob towards you, which will allow you to extract the ring that secures it. Next, to remove the knob, you will need to unscrew it to free it from the shaft.

Once this is done, you can also remove the gaiter and replace it with a new one, and carry out any further work on the knob if necessary. Now, simply retrace the steps described in reverse for the reassembly of the various components removed during the process.
