How to change the air filter of the Citroen C3

To replace the engine air filter on the Citroen C3, work with the engine off and cold, with the car on a level surface. Open the hood and locate the air filter box, connected to the intake duct via a sleeve or plastic tube with a clamp/connector. To access the filter, first clear the workspace by disconnecting the intake duct from the filter box, without pulling on nearby wiring or hoses. Once the connection is free, manipulate the latches on the filter box cover and lift it just enough to expose the filter element. Carefully remove the old filter, avoiding dropping dirt into the housing, and check that the seating is clean all around the perimeter. Insert the new filter while respecting the orientation and ensuring that the frame sits correctly in place, to avoid unfiltered air leaks. Close the cover by repositioning all the latches, then reconnect the intake duct and tighten/secure the connection firmly. Finish with a visual check: cover properly closed, duct well connected, and no parts under tension; if you hear unusual intake noises after starting, immediately recheck the tightness of the connection.
