How to Change the Engine Oil and Filter on a Citroën C4

To replace the engine oil and filter on a Citroën C4, park the vehicle on a flat surface and safely lift it to access the underside of the engine. Position a drain pan under the oil sump and unscrew the filler cap in the engine compartment. Then remove the drain plug from the sump and allow the used oil to fully drain out. Once drained, reinstall the drain plug and check that the gasket is in good condition. Locate the oil filter, unscrew it with the appropriate tool, and remove it from its seat. Lubricate the gasket of the new filter with a small amount of clean oil and screw it in until it is properly tightened. Pour the new engine oil through the filler neck, check the level with the dipstick, and add oil if necessary. Start the engine for a few seconds and check for any leaks around the filter and drain plug.
