How to Replace the Gearbox Oil in a Citroen C3

Model: Citroen C3 FC, FN - Years 2002-2009

To replace the gearbox oil in a Citroen C3, start by opening the bonnet. Remove the clip holding the upper air tube, disconnect the manifold near the removed clip, and take out the air intake duct using a flathead screwdriver. Unscrew a quarter turn that secures the air filter box, then remove the air box by tilting it upwards and pulling it towards you. Now locate the cap on the gearbox manifold, remove it, and insert a funnel with a tube into the gearbox hole. Pour in transmission cleaner that mixes with the used oil. Once all the cleaner is added, replace the gearbox cap, reposition the air box, clip it back in place, reattach the air intake tube, and secure the upper tube with the manifold. Now start the car's engine and let it idle for 10-15 minutes before turning it off. Next, raise the front of the car, remove the lower protection cover to access the gearbox oil drain plug. Using the appropriate spanner, unscrew the oil drain plug while placing a large container underneath. Replace the drain bolt with a new one, screw it in by hand, and then tighten it with the spanner. Now lower the car, disassemble the air box with the tubes and manifold, remove the oil filler cap again, insert the funnel with the tube, pour in the exact amount of new oil, replace the filler cap, and finally reassemble the components of the air box.
