Replacing the tailgate opening switch on a Citroen C4 Picasso requires some basic mechanical skills and can be done by following the following general steps: Make sure the car is turned off and the tailgate is completely closed. Open the tailgate manually using the key or the external handle, if necessary. Remove the inner panel of the tailgate. There are usually screws or fastening clips around the edges of the panel. Use the appropriate tools, such as an Allen key or a plastic lever, to gently remove them. Once the panel is removed, you should have access to the opening switch. It may be connected to the panel itself or mounted directly on the tailgate frame. Disconnect the electrical connector that connects the switch to the car's electrical system. Remove the defective switch by unscrewing it or carefully prying it off using a flathead screwdriver or a similar tool. Be careful not to damage or scratch the surrounding parts. Below I will explain how to replace the remote control key battery on the car, take a small screwdriver and pry the rear part of the remote control, (where there is the ring), at which point unhook the back cover and yes will have access to the compartment containing the battery. Always with the help of the small screwdriver, proceed to make the va and lift the battery out of the housing. Then take the new battery (check the type) and place it on the housing, always making sure to position it with the positive pole facing upwards. Finally, close the back cover by re-hooking it to the key.
