However, upon closer inspection, they noticed that there was a small empty space in the rear lifting mechanism, preventing it from closing. So, with a simple wooden stick placed in the empty space, they managed to keep the seat upright without any difficulty. It may not be the most elegant solution, and finding a plastic cylinder would be better, but it works.
