To replace the gear knob on a Citroën C3, use a tool like a screwdriver to pry off the plastic cover at the base of the lever: once this cover is removed, you can lift the leather gaiter that wraps around the lever and then widen the ring at the base of the knob.

Once this ring is removed, you can completely detach the knob and then fit the new one onto the lever: now secure it with the ring and reattach the lever cover.
