Replacing the rear shock absorber is straightforward since, unlike the front one, the spring and damper are not co-axial, so you do not need to compress the spring to separate it from the shock absorber. Lift the vehicle and unscrew the fastening bolt of the shock absorber from the suspension support.

Use a jack to support the suspension and remove the bolt, then release the jack. Lower the car to access the boot, move the carpet lining, and unscrew the bolt that secures the shock absorber stem to the body strut.

At this point, remove the old shock absorber and proceed in reverse for the installation of the new one.

To remove the rear seat of a Hyundai Tucson, follow these steps. Start by moving the front seats to their most forward position to gain space.
