Disassemble the fairings and the tank to work optimally. Drain the coolant by opening the coolant drain plug. Give the pedal strokes to push the last remaining liquid to come out. Unscrew the brake pedal pin, then drain the engine oil from its outlet hole. Remove the small cover of the mixer. Disconnect all amenities and the throttle cable. Remove the crankcase cover by unscrewing its screws. Remove the pedal and then the cover. Here is the clutch! Remove the clutch discs compartment by unscrewing the 5 screws present with the springs, then the plate and then the discs themselves.

How do you change the engine oil of the BMW R 1200 GS?

The replacement of the engine oil of the BMW R 1200 GS is carried out by loosening the bolts that secure the skid plate positioned in the lower part of the bike. Once this plate has been removed, it will be possible to unscrew the drain plug below, so that the used oil can be collected inside a suitably positioned container. Next to the drain plug you will find the oil filter, which in turn must be extracted and replaced with a new one. After the replacement, it will be possible to top up from the special vent on the crankcase to the left of the bike.
