Cylinder Head Gasket Replacement

Model: Dodge Caliber MK 1 - Years 2006-2012

To replace the gasket on this model, start by removing the connectors attached to the spark plugs and removing the plugs themselves by unscrewing the bolts. Next, remove both pipes connected to the cylinder head, oil and vacuum. Now, remove all the bolts anchoring the cylinder head to the engine; there are 18 in total, 14 around the head and 4 located between the spark plug positions and the rail. To lift the cylinder head completely, it will be necessary to unscrew some bolts with a power tool and apply some leverage to detach it from the rest of the engine. Once lifted and inverted, you can proceed with replacing the gaskets and remounting the cylinder head onto the engine.
