Replacement of the Bush in the Gear Selector and Dismantling the Centre Tunnel

Remove the gear lever knob by unscrewing it. Also dismantle the metal plate of the gear selector and the glove compartment of the cigarette lighter by disconnecting its wires. Remove the leather cover of the armrest. Now the wiring connector for the switch panel in the tunnel compartment is accessible and must be disconnected. Free the handbrake lever cover by cutting the plastic retaining tie and, using an Allen key, unscrew the screws of the tunnel, taking care not to damage the plastic. Gently remove the tunnel. Using an Allen key, remove the pin of the spring and at the base of the gear lever, the retaining C-clip, and remove the spring. Remove the plastic element around the rod in the square support at the base with assistance. Once the old bush is removed, fit a new one onto the rod, secure it, and check its correct operation by moving the lever through all positions. Carefully refit the remaining components and grease the entire mechanism thoroughly. Restore all other parts.
