In this video we can see how to install a simple but ingenious alarm system for our camper: a steel plate that blocks the breaking of the driver's side door. Thieves often drill the bodywork near the lock to activate the unlocking mechanism, but with this plate it is impossible. We dismantle the door panel using the plastic lever clips (avoiding the screwdriver) Disconnect cables and screws) window lifts, speakers, handles then we move on to uncovering the mechanism by removing the insulation (which may be glued) and unscrewing the two bolts). We fix the plate (which is nothing more than a piece of steel of decent thickness) and mount it with threadlocker to make it unbreakable, then reassemble everything. It prevents quick break-ins, because whoever tries to steal will have a tough time, and at a really low cost. Pay attention to the steel cable of the unlocking mechanism, which should be hung, not removed.
