Error P253F on Fiat Talento: Deteriorated Oil and DPF Blockage

The code P253F indicates "deteriorated engine oil/invalid signal". This means that the oil quality sensor detects that the engine oil is degraded, likely due to overdue maintenance or previous improper repair attempts. In fact, the exhaust gas pressure is excessively high, indicating that the DPF is clogged, and the oil quality has degraded beyond permissible limits. The oil is then replaced and the maintenance light is reset. A specific chemical cleaner is injected into the DPF through the fuel tank. A drive on the motorway at a constant speed is then performed to allow the DPF to regenerate and burn off the accumulated ash. To prevent the problem from recurring in the future, it is essential not to ignore the alerts from the engine management system (warning light on = problem to diagnose immediately), and as much as possible, avoid very short urban trips that prevent the DPF from regenerating properly, in addition to using quality fuel and, if necessary, specific DPF additives.
