To replace the engine oil and filter on a Fiat 500, it is advisable to bring the engine to its normal operating temperature, then turn it off and safely lift the vehicle. After removing the oil filler cap, place a container under the sump and unscrew the drain plug to allow the complete drainage of the used lubricant. Once the draining is finished, remove the old oil filter and install the new one, applying a thin layer of oil on the gasket before fitting. Next, reattach the drain plug, preferably with a new gasket, and fill the engine with the quantity and specification of oil recommended by the manufacturer. Finally, start the engine for a few seconds, check for leaks, and verify the oil level, topping up as necessary until the correct level is reached.
