How to Change the Timing Belt in a Fiat Panda

To replace the timing belt on a first-generation Fiat Panda, disconnect the battery and remove the components that obstruct access to the timing side. Then, position the engine at the specified timing position, aligning the marks on the crankshaft and camshaft. Remove the timing cover and loosen the tensioner, then slide off the old belt. It is advisable to also replace the tensioner and water pump simultaneously when it is driven by the timing belt. Install the new belt following the indicated path exactly and keeping the timing marks aligned. Then adjust the tension using the tensioner and manually rotate the crankshaft to verify that the timing remains correctly synchronised. Refit the cover and all previously removed components, then start the engine and check for proper operation.
