Replacing Front Shock Absorbers on Fiat Idea

Model: Fiat Idea MK 1 - Years 2003-2016

Remove the three screws from the cover near the windscreen, take off the wiper caps, and unscrew the underlying 10 mm nuts. Unscrew the other three screws from the wiper motor and detach it. As shown in the video, unscrew the upper mounting bolt of the shock absorber using a 6 mm Allen key, holding the base with a 19 mm spanner. Move to the underside of the car and disconnect the brake fluid pipe and ABS cable from the shock absorber. Using 15 mm and 17 mm spanners, unscrew the two bolts on the hub and then the ball joint. Remove the shock absorber from the car and completely disassemble it on a workbench, using "spring compressors", tools that can be easily purchased online which will greatly assist you in the maintenance.
