Replacing the Gear Knob on a Fiat 500

Using a small flat screwdriver or a small plastic wedge, pry in the gap of the upper plate (the one with the gear markings) and remove it. Once done, unscrew the 10 mm bolt that is now accessible. Now gently pull the gear gaiter from the base, either by hand or with the help of the plastic wedge. Once you have removed the gaiter, you can cut the clip and remove the old gear knob. Insert the new one you have selected and purchased, proceeding in reverse order by fitting the gaiter back to the base and then mounting the knob.
