If untreated, a rusty oil sump can even develop holes, leading to oil leaks and potential engine damage; therefore, it is advisable to restore it. Lift the vehicle on suitable axle stands or a hydraulic lift. Use a wire brush to remove the rust dust from the oil sump.

Then, apply a descaling gel to eliminate all rust residues; repeat the process if necessary. Once the oil sump is clean of rust, apply anti-rust treatment and finally paint it with black paint.
