Repairing the Gaiter and Knob on Fiat 600

Model: Fiat Seicento MK 1 - Years 1998-2010
Part: Shift knob

To remove the gear gaiter, loosen the grip of the lower clips that hold it in place using a small flat screwdriver. Do this patiently and gently, lifting the gaiter a little at a time from its housing. At this point, open the button and the gaiter tear and pull it off from the top, passing it around the knob. If you wish to change the knob as well, simply unscrew it from the main gear shaft and screw on the new knob. To fit the new gaiter, just slide it on, passing it around the knob, and press the clips into place at the base.
