To replace the thermostat on a Fiat Punto 1.2 8V, open the bonnet to access the engine compartment and remove the plastic cover from the top of the engine. Locate the pipe through which the coolant flows: this pipe must be disconnected from the radiator, collecting the fluid in a container.

This will allow you to detach the thermostat and replace it with a new spare part; after replacement, reinstall all the parts that were previously removed.
