How to Repair the Internal Handle Cord of a Fiat Bravo

Now you will learn how to change the driver’s side internal handle of a Fiat Bravo door. Start by removing the screw covers from the panel, beginning with the one used to close the door. Under the covers, remove the Torx screws, then take off the cover behind the handle using a small flathead screwdriver, which hides another Torx screw. Next, use a plastic wedge to remove the switch panel: disconnect the connectors by pressing and pushing down the lever, repeating the same operation with the other connector. At this point, you will see the screws to remove (a total of 4). Then, using a crosshead screwdriver, remove the two screws under the panel. Remove the panel by inserting a large flathead screwdriver underneath to lift the entire panel, ensuring to remove the plastic covering the rearview mirror first. As seen in the video, the handle cord is broken, and the other end is left inside; remove the clip holding the cord with a flathead screwdriver and take out the cord. If your panel has a courtesy light, remove it to free the panel. To repair the cord, measure the end of the cord with a caliper, take a small L-shaped metal piece, and cut it to the required length. Use a clamp to secure the end of the cord and the L-shaped metal piece together, then refit the cord in its place, inserting the L-shaped metal piece where the broken piece was and close the clip. At this point, you can test to see if the handle opens. Finally, reassemble the panel by reversing the steps described for disassembly.
