How to Remove the Ignition Switch from the Fiat Punto

Model: Fiat Punto MK 1, 176 - Years 1993-1999

In this video tutorial, you can see how to remove the ignition switch from the first series Fiat Punto. First, take a hex key and start removing the plastic covers located under the steering wheel, beginning with the screws at the bottom; this will allow you to remove the panel under the steering wheel. Now, unscrew two more screws that hold the plastic in place; once these screws are removed, you need to unscrew the screws from the steering column; then, using a screwdriver (be careful not to damage anything), remove the horn cover and disconnect the horn wires (positive and negative). Using a 24 mm socket, unscrew the steering bolt (to better unscrew the central bolt, turn the steering wheel all the way). Now, straighten the steering wheel and remove the screw. Remove the steering wheel and then proceed to remove the indicator stalk. At this point, disconnect the connector and remove the ignition switch.
