How to remove the ignition switch on a Fiat Punto? Before removing the ignition switch from the car, disconnect the battery power cables. Use a socket or screwdriver to undo the screws securing the side and lower covers of the steering wheel, then remove the screws with a screwdriver. Once the plastics are removed, take out the ignition switch retaining pin and extract it from its housing. After removing the lock, replace it with a new one. Reverse the assembly steps to reassemble.
