How to Replace the Gear Knob Gaiter on the Fiat 500L

To replace the gear knob gaiter on the Fiat 500L (the video shows the entire lever removed, but this procedure can be done with the gear lever installed in the car), unclip the button holding the gaiter in place, then pull off the entire gaiter, releasing the lower plate from its clips. Once the gaiter is removed, take off the chrome plate from the gaiter by detaching it from the clips of the gaiter bracket. Remove the circular bracket of the gaiter and fit it onto the new gear gaiter, ensuring it clips in securely. Then, insert the new gaiter into the chrome plastic, making sure it fits properly, and finally, with the button open, insert the gaiter onto the gear lever, fastening the button where the teeth are located on the lever.
