Instructions for Removing Rear Brake Pads

If you hear a squeaking noise coming from the rear wheels while braking, it is likely that the brake pads are worn or that excessive dirt is preventing them from sliding properly, causing them to vibrate and squeal. To resolve this issue, it may be sufficient to clean and lubricate the pads and the sliding plates with copper grease. If the pads are worn, they will need to be replaced. Lift the vehicle on suitable axle stands and remove the rear wheel. Then, unscrew the caliper retaining bolts and detach it from its housing to extract the pads. Clean the sliding plates and pads thoroughly, then install them, lubricating everything with copper grease.

How to Replace the Gear Knob on a Mini

Want to replace the gear knob on a Mini? Follow these steps for the replacement: first, take the knob in your hands and rotate it left and right until you remove it from the gear stick. Use a plastic lever to disconnect the leather gaiter frame (if it needs replacing). For reassembly: fit the new leather gaiter with the clips (if removed), then take the new knob and push it onto the stick in the centre console until it is secured.
