Fiat 500 - Video tutorial

Model: Fiat 500 312 - Years 2007-2023
Part: Side window
Operation: How to replace the side window of a Fiat 500.

In this video, we see how to replace the side glass of a Fiat 500. In this case, the glass was broken due to a break-in, so it is very important to check carefully inside the seal that there are no small pieces of glass, as the new glass will have difficulty rising if there are any residues (and it could scratch). To remove the panel, there are two screws behind the handle, the door opening pin is removed, and then the panel is pulled towards oneself. There are also glass residues inside the panel that need to be removed to avoid annoying vibrations in the future. The glass, being a three-door, is quite large and must be inserted from the outside, at an angle, and then moved to the right. Remember to bring the window regulator all the way down before inserting the glass and then slowly raise it. Make sure all the guides are in the correct position, as well as the limit switch, which is located at the bottom of the door.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
