Fiat Punto - Video tutorial

Model: Fiat Punto 188, MK 2 - Years 1999-2011
Part: Crankshaft RPM sensor
Operation: Where is the engine rotation sensor located on the Fiat Punto 1.2 8V?

In this video, we see where the engine speed sensor of the Fiat Punto 1.2 8V is located. It is positioned on the belt pulley near the engine crankshaft and reads the number of revolutions made by that pulley. Above it, we can see the oil pressure sensor, which is attached to the filter. This sensor is essential because it helps the engine control unit understand how many revolutions the engine is making (along with those of the camshaft). Consequently, if the sensor doesn't work, the engine control unit doesn't understand what is happening inside the engine: it must, therefore, be kept clean and free from deposits.
