How to Change the Oil Filter on a Fiat Idea Diesel

The oil filter on this model equipped with the 1.3 MultiJet engine is of the cartridge type and is located at the front left (when viewed from the front) of the engine bay, right next to the yellow engine oil filler cap. To replace it, first remove the air intake hose that passes directly over the filter's location. Next, remove the metal protection shield applied over the filter cap, then unscrew the cap and extract the filter cartridge. Remove the old cartridge and install the new one along with the O-ring seals, which should be coated with clean oil before reattaching the filter cap.
