Replacing the Battery in the Fiat Punto

If the battery in the Fiat Punto discharges over time and does not hold subsequent charges, it needs to be replaced. To do this, open the bonnet; you will find its housing on the right side. Using a ratchet with an extension and a 13 mm socket, unscrew the bracket that secures the battery. With a 10 mm socket, remove the two terminals from the battery poles, starting with the negative. Remove the old battery and insert the new one, applying a thin layer of copper grease on the poles and cleaning the inside of the terminals with sandpaper before reattaching them, starting with the positive. Refit the securing bracket and tighten it with its nuts.
